A talking toilet seat was among the rubbish found during a community litter pick in Wincheap.
The volunteer who found it was taken aback when she went to pick the novelty item up and it started sounding words through a speaker.
It mysteriously disappeared before Canterbury City Council’s cleaning contractor Serco arrived to collect the rubbish.

Other bulk items found in the pick on Sunday included the front half of a child’s bike, mattresses, plant holders and a traffic cone.
A total 30 sacks of litter were collected by 20 volunteers who worked through non-stop drizzle.
The pick was held by the Wincheap Society
Organiser Ed Craven said: “The litter-pick was very enjoyable and useful in spite of the rain. We made Wincheap a cleaner and more attractive place to live in and it was a fun social event.”
