
A man has been charged with robbing a Canterbury jeweller’s shop.
Patrick McDermott is alleged to have stolen an estimated £60,000 worth of jewellery from Hadfields in Castle Street on Wednesday, December 19.
The 31-year-old from Brixton was arrested in London on Friday, January 25 and has also been charged with driving while banned.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Canterbury Crown Court on February, 22.
Investigating officer Det Con Steve East said: “We continue to carry out enquiries into the robbery to identify a second suspect. We are still appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.”
